What is Linkr?

Linkr is a platform that connects people to the internet through a distributed network of community-operated wireless hotspots. Instead of relying solely on traditional carriers or public Wi-Fi, Linkr enables anyone with a router or access point to share their connectivity and participate in a global mesh of verified hotspots.

Who is Linkr for?

Users

Find and connect to verified hotspots wherever you go. See coverage quality before you connect.

Hotspot Operators

Share your connectivity, verify your location, and earn rewards for keeping your hotspot online.

Integrators

Build on top of Linkr’s coverage data and APIs to create location-aware applications.

Key Features

Hotspot Creation and Verification

Operators register their hotspots through the Linkr app, verify their physical location, and link a compatible router or device. Once verified, the hotspot appears on the global map and becomes discoverable by users.

Discovery and Connection

Users browse the global map to find nearby hotspots. Each hotspot displays real-time availability, signal quality estimates, and coverage radius. Connection is handled through the Linkr app, which manages authentication and session tracking.

Rewards for Operators

Operators earn rewards based on their hotspot’s uptime, availability, and performance. The system continuously monitors hotspots and distributes rewards to those that maintain reliable service.

Global Coverage Map

Linkr maintains a live map of all verified hotspots worldwide. Coverage data is updated in real time as hotspots come online, go offline, or change status.

How the System Works

Linkr operates as a three-lane system connecting users, the network, and hotspots:

│ User │◄────►│ Linkr Network │◄────►│ Hotspot │

User Lane: End users interact with the Linkr app to discover hotspots, initiate connections, and manage their sessions. The app handles all network discovery and authentication. Linkr Network Lane: The central layer consists of the Linkr app, backend APIs, and protocol logic. It processes hotspot registrations, validates locations, aggregates telemetry, computes coverage, and calculates rewards. Hotspot Lane: Physical devices operated by community members. Each hotspot runs lightweight software or firmware that reports availability and performance metrics back to the Linkr Network.

What Linkr is Not

Linkr is not a telecom provider. It does not own or operate the underlying internet connections. Instead, it provides the discovery, verification, and coordination layer that allows community members to share their connectivity with others.
